MOVIE REVIEW: The Master

My fiancee and I went to go and see the highly-touted film The Master. It stars Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams. People said that the acting was superb and the performances were probably going to be nominated for Academy Awards.

All I have to say is:

WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is all I have to say about that movie. Also, for some reason, I cannot seem to be able to post a video clip of the movie, so I just posted a link. There you go!

It's The Little Things In Life

I have always found that the little things in life are the ones that are sometimes the best. I guess being engaged gives me a whole new outlook on the little things, but I find that it also applies to a lot of other things in life. The little things often go unappreciated to most people, but they don't with me!

This especially applies to theatre and movies. There are certain things that I get a kick out of or subtly appreciate when it comes to theatre and movies. I figured, in truest fashion with me, I would make a list (WOAH! SURPRISE TWIST!). This is a list of all of the stupid little things that either make me laugh or smile when it comes to theatre and movies, and aren't always noticed or appreciated by the general public. Hopefully, you will read this list and start appreciating the little things:

  • When puppets drop their jaw in shock
  • Using actual locations
  • Using the F-word a lot
  • Saying things that you wouldn't expect that character to say
  • Using local colloquialisms
  • Subtle comedic lines that never get recognized in blockbuster comedies
  • Full commitment throughout (T.V., movies, and theatre)
  • Jokes that get resurfaced at the end
  • Quirky character choices
  • Subtle hints from previous works by the director
  • References to other films
  • Bringing up the elephant in the room
  • Random jokes that never get explained
  • Random celebrity guest appearances
  • When actors who aren't in the scene reacting realistically
  • When characters ask the realistic questions first
  • Character traits that are never dropped
  • When horror movies have realistic reactions and dialogue
  • Being surprised
  • Lines that normally have no meaning behind them, but when said by a badass sound really cool!
  • Badasses who don't talk a lot and are on the good side
These are just some of the things that I love to see when I watch a movie, or watch T.V., or see a play. Just a few things to look for when you are doing the same ;)
